Teens across Boston are making positive things happen every day! As part of the youth summit, Mayor Menino and the City of Boston present several Boston teens with Positive Image Awards. The awards recognize young people who are making a positive difference in their communities. Teachers, coaches and youth workers nominate the teens whose leadership and involvement makes them role models for their peers.

Nominating a teen

Nomination forms will be available at the end of the summer. Nominees must currently be a Boston resident and be between the age of 12 and 18. Only one recommendation letter is needed and should include how you know this teen, how long, why you believe they should be recognized for their particular positive actions, and any additional information that will help the selection committee. Please be very specific about what makes this teen stand out from his/her peers. Teens nominated for the Positive Image Award must be available to attend the Mayor’s Youth Summit.
