The Boston College Allston/Brighton Scholarship program provides academically talented students from Allston/Brighton (permanent residents only) the financial support to attend Boston College.
|

Eligibility:
|
Students who are permanent residents of Allston/Brighton and who demonstrate strong academic potential; Allston/Brighton
applicants to Boston College are automatically eligible; no special application is required.
|

Criteria:
|
Earn admission to Boston College based upon standards established by the Office of Undergraduate Admission. Admitted students with institutionally determined need greater than $10,000 will be considered.

Description:

Established in 1986 to honor the late Honorable Thomas P. O'Neill, Jr.'36, LL.D. '73, the scholarship provides assistance to students who reside in areas that were within House Speaker O'Neill's congressional district.

Eligibility:
|
Students from the Eighth or the former Eleventh Congressional Districts who apply for freshman admission and who complete the Boston College financial aid application process. Preference may be given to direct descendents of residents in these districts between 1936 and 1986.

Description:

Options Through Education is a combination scholarship/mentoring program established 15 years ago through the Office of AHANA (African-American, Hispanic, Asian, Native American) student programs. Consideration is given to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The forty students who qualify each year for scholarships also participate in a six-week enrichment program during the summer prior to freshman year.

Students from economically and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds, with affirmative recruitment of African-American, Hispanic, Asian, and Native American students. Eligible candidate must complete the Boston College financial aid application process.
