Description: This program offers free financial aid advice to students and their parents. ACCESS provides "Last Dollar" scholarships to help qualified students meet the "gap" between the financial aid they have been awarded and the money they actually need to attend. ACCESS supports "Last Dollar" recipients throughout their college careers, offering advice, advocacy, and scholarships. These scholarships are need-based and are renewable for each year that the student remains in college, for up to five years.
Eligibility: - Boston Resident - Boston Public High School graduate (the year of application) - Submitted a FAFSA - Accepted to a two-year/four-year college or technical school - A U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen as specified on the FAFSA - Not convicted of possessing or selling illegal drugs - Selected a college that you plan to attend - Met with an ACCESS advisor - Meet the application deadline
Criteria: Must apply during senior year in a Boston Public School and demonstrate unmet financial need. Must reapply annually.
Selection: ACCESS Scholarship Committee
Award: $200-$2500, renewable for up to six years
