City of Boston Scholarship Fund

Description: Mayor Thomas Menino established the program to provide assistance to Boston residents who plan to pursue post-secondary education. Scholarship funding is made possible from voluntary contributions made by citizens, corporate sponsors and others.
Eligibility: Must be a legal resident of Boston for at least two years as of January 1; must graduate from high school or have completed the G.E.D.; must be seeking study at a two to four year accredited post-secondary institution within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Criteria: Must have an official secondary institution record and SAT or TOEFL score (if available) or G.E.D. score report, provide a copy of most recent 1040 tax form and Financial Aid Form (FAF), proof of residency and that a post-secondary institution will be attended within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, must have an essay, must demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, community service, educational and career goals, and character demonstrated through leadership, work experience, and recommendation
