Charlestown Preservation Society (CPS) Scholarship

Sponsored by Charlestown Preservation Society
Description: There are two student scholarships given out based on the best short essay relating how Charlestown has influenced your life. One $1500 award will go to a senior at Charlestown High (does not have to live in Charlestown) and the other $1500 award will go to a high school senior who is a resident of Charlestown.
Eligibility: Applicants must be high school seniors who are either residents of Charlestown or students at the Charlestown High School and who have been accepted in a full-time undergraduate program at a two- or four-year accredited academic institution for the Fall 2009 term.
Criteria: The essay is judged by a panel of judges, selected by the CPS Board of Trustees who will make the final selection of the 2 award recipients. Essays will be judged on the pertinence of the writer's response to the required theme, on refinement of writing mechanics and style, and originality of thought. The winners will be notified and awarded in June 2009 at the CPS Annual Meeting.
