City Year's Young Hero's Program
Young Heroes is an innovative service corps of 6th, 7th and 8th-graders who devote
Saturdays and after school hours to serving their community.
Drawing on their unique energy and insight, middle-school students from all backgrounds
will work together to transform communities and lead others into service.
At the same time, they will strengthen their own skills and equip themselves to be leaders today.
After school, on Saturdays, and throughout the summer - beginning on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday
in January - Young Heroes will tutor in after-school programs, teach peer education curricula on HIV/AIDS
and homelessness and run immunization drives. Young Heroes strengthen the service ethic at their
schools and serve as role models to citizens of all ages.
You can find a Young Heroes corps wherever you find City Year.
