Connecting the Generations

Every Wednesday for 10 weeks, Generations Incorporated AmeriCorps members, students from the Woodrow Wilson Citizens Schools campus and older adults from the Kit Clark Senior Center in Dorchester got together. The original purpose of their collaboration was for the young people to teach basic Internet skills to their senior partners, and together they were to explore the Dorchester community on-line. This project was not without its challenges. First we discovered that there is limited information about the recent history of Dorchester on-line. Not long after that, we found out that Kit Clark unfortunatley lost their Internet Service. Always looking to make lemondade out of lemons, our group stuck it out. We decided that we would create our own history of Dorchester based on the real life stories of the individuals who lived there.
