During the spring of 2001, Generations Incorporated partnered with the City of Boston and Citizen Schools to bring basic Internet skills to older adults in three communities in Boston. During this pilot project, Generations Incorporated AmeriCorps members helped young people from the Woodrow Wilson and Hernandez Citizen Schools campuses and the East Boston Social Center. While the older adults learned some new computers skills, the young people had the opportunity to study the story of their community. Through Internet searches, personal interviews and oral history presentations, pathways to the past were explored helping to bridge the generational divide between all involved.
